Former England and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard have recently announced his retirement from playing professional football. The player has announced that he would like to get into management and his boyhood clubs have offered him the possibility to joining the coaching staff at Anfield. Top betting sites have started to take bets on which club he will end up managing but the player has stated that he wants to take his time before making the decision.
Liverpool manager, Klopp is not too keen on the idea of the former Reds legend joining the club. He believes that he should take the steps into management so that he can learn from the mistake and understand what it takes to be a top manager.
Gerrard has not decided yet what his next steps are going to be after calling time on his professional playing career. He has said that he would first like to complete all of his coaching badges first and combine that with occasional work in the media.
If Gerrard can emulate his leadership skills he gained from playing at the top level of football, he will make a great manager. He has said that he wants to be back involved in either been a manager or assistant.
With JurgenKlopp not too keen on the idea of Gerrard joining the first team set up, it is likely that the role offered to the player will be in the Liverpool youth academy. Talks between the two have not started yet but over the next few months, it is expected that they will begin.
If the talks between Liverpool and Gerrard do not go the way that fulfills both needs, then the former Liverpool star may take a direct route into management. It should not be difficult for the player to find a job in management due to his exceptional record and reputation as a great leader.

You can only develop as a manager by making the wrong decision because then you can develop your style to improve the team. If Gerrard is successful by keeping the team he manages in the league and eventually helping them get a promotion, he will greatly improve his chances of landing a job at one of the big teams in the top division.
Klopp stated his management at Mainz which he said helped him to become one of the most sought after managers in the world. Due to the fact he was not in the public limelight, he was able to make mistakes without the fierce criticism that comes when managing one of the top teams in the world.
Klopp believes that the Gerrard situation is the same as the one that Ryan Giggs found himself in at Old Trafford. It was a complete disaster for the former Man U legend and now it is going to be very difficult for him to rebuild his reputation.
